Weekly Closure Comments

Hampton Harbor is now closed for the season.  Weather permitting, the area will reopen for harvest in November. Little Harbor is now closed for the season.  Weather permitting, the area will reopen for harvest in late October or early November. Closed for the taking of all species of shellfish July 1 through August 31, 2014.  Weather permitting the area will reopen for some species of shellfish on September 1, 2014. Closed for the taking of all species of shellfish July 1 through August 31, 2014.  Weather permitting the area will reopen for some species of shellfish on September 1, 2014. Bellamy River is now closed for the season.  Weather permitting, the area will reopen for harvest in September. Softshell clam and oyster seasons are closed. Softshell clam and oyster seasons are closed. Recreational harvest of surf clams and quahogs is limited to approved waters within 500 feet of the low tide line.  Harvest of these species in the offshore area (seaward of the 500 line) is restricted to licensed bait harvesters.

CLAM FLAT HOTLINE: The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department maintains a toll-free number (1-800-43-CLAMS) residents may call to learn the status of the clam flats, oyster beds, and other shellfish harvesting areas.

Areas labeled as "open" are subject to temporary closures as a result of weather and other factors. Before you go shellfishing, always call the Clam Flat Hotline at 1-800-43-CLAMS to make sure your area is open.
