Visit Fish & Game at the Granite State Outdoor Show
Concord, N.H. - Feb. 28-March 2, 2014
CONCORD, N.H. – Looking for something to do this weekend? Check out the Granite State Outdoor Show at the Grappone Center, 70 Constitution Ave, Concord, N.H., from February 28 through March 2. The event is sponsored by the Outdoor Gazette and the New Hampshire Antler & Skull Trophy Club. Be sure to stop by N.H. Fish and Game's booth at the show, where you can pick up information and buy licenses.
The show runs from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, 9:00 AM to 6 PM on Saturday, and 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday. Admission is $8 per person and children under 12 are admitted free. Friday’s admission is $5.
In addition to the New Hampshire Antler & Skull Trophy Club, exhibitors include the Vermont Big Game Trophy Club, Northeast Big Buck Club, Maine Antler & Skull Trophy Club, Boone & Crockett Club, Pope & Young Club (archery), and Longhunter Society (muzzleloader). Many outdoor-related vendors will also be on hand to display and sell their wares.
"We invite you and your family to attend this event and encourage you to bring along as many trophies as you like to be measured and/or displayed," said event organizer Fred Allard of the Outdoor Gazette. Bring in your trophy and receive $1 off admission for each trophy you bring in for measuring or display. Note that trophy measuring will be done on Saturday and Sunday only.
At the show, sportmen and women will also enjoy seminars and demonstrations on various hunting/shooting/wildlife-related topics. Pick up tips on turkey hunting, bowhunting New England bucks, survival techniques, taxidermy care and more.
This year’s speakers include:
* Daniel Bergeron, NH Fish and Game's deer project leader, with an overview of 2013 deer, bear, and moose hunting harvest totals;
* Lane Benoit, the great deer tracker from Vermont, shares tactics for killing big New England bucks;
* Dean Vanier will give tips on the use of scents for hunting;
* Chris Bassingthwaite gets into bows and bruins;
* Matt Trombley takes on trolling tactics;
* DB Ice Adventures covers hard water fishing;
* Roscoe Blaisdell explores food plots and game cameras.
Another highlight of the show will be a display of the famous “King Buck” from Wisconsin -- believed by many to be the rightful world record typical whitetail deer. Enjoy a seminar and ask your questions about this controversial buck.
Bring the kids along to enjoy a turkey calling contest, the electric shooting/hunt simulator, air soft range and face painting.
The Grappone Center is located just off I-93 (Exit 15W in Concord, N.H.).
